SINGAPORE – Three KTV lounges will be closed from Tuesday (July 13) to July 27 after the Ministry of Health (MOH) said it found COVID-19 transmission “probably in progress” linked to the premises.

All three entertainment venues – Club Dolce at Balestier Point, WU Bistro at the Golden Mile Complex and Club De Zara at the Textile Center – will be closed to allow for a thorough cleaning and break any potential chain of transmission, the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday. health.

They are linked to an emerging COVID-19 cluster, currently totaling 12 cases, involving Vietnamese social hostesses who had frequented KTV lounges or clubs currently operating as food and drink outlets (F&B).

Special test operations will be carried out for all staff at WU Bistro and Club De Zara.

The health ministry said it will extend free COVID-19 testing to members of the public who visited all three outlets between June 29 and July 13 or similar KTV shows or clubs operating as outlets. F&B.

The free COVID-19 tests will also be extended to those who have interacted with Vietnamese social hostesses in any setting between June 29 and Tuesday.

It comes a day after the ministry announced similar testing measures for staff members and visitors to Club Dolce, Supreme KTV at the Far East Mall and Empress KTV at the Tanglin Mall.

“All visitors to these premises and similar environments and those who have interacted with Vietnamese social hostesses are advised to closely monitor their health and minimize social interaction as much as possible for 14 days from the date of their visit. visit or interaction, ”the health ministry said.

He also encouraged visitors to seek medical attention immediately if they are unwell.

The Department of Health on Tuesday confirmed 26 new cases of COVID-19 in Singapore, bringing the country’s total number of cases to 62,744. Nineteen of them are domestic cases in the community, eight of which – on 15 related infections – belong to the group of KTV lounges / clubs.
