Dong Nai Province is planning a 5.2 trillion dong ($ 224 million) project to provide piped water to the satellite urban areas of Long Thanh International Airport.

The province worked with Binh Duong Water – Environment Joint Stock Company based in its neighboring province of Binh Duong on the project, which is expected to deliver 60,000 cubic meters of water every 24 hours.

Water for the project will come from the Dong Nai River before being treated to supply residents of Long Thanh and Cam My districts as well as other residential areas around the airport, which is expected to replace Tan Airport. Its HCMC Nhat as the biggest in Vietnam formerly. completed.

Dong Nai Chairman Cao Tien Dung said the project was necessary and ordered the relevant units to organize bids soon to choose investors and prioritize it.

Dong Nai, on the HCMC border, is emerging as a major industrial hub as foreign companies continue to shift production to Vietnam.

The government said earlier that construction of the airport is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025 and will become operational by the end of this year.
