Hanoi (VNA) – The Mekong Delta is destined to become a sustainable, dynamic and highly efficient company agricultural economic centerof the country, the region and the world by 2030.

It is part of the regional master plan for 2021-2030 with a vision for 2050 mentioned in Resolution No. 5/NQ-HĐĐPVĐBSCL recently issued by the Mekong Delta Coordination Council.

Master plan approval should make it easier for regional localities to design their own planning in a way that ensures they are connected, synchronous and systemic together.

As a result, the region will include agricultural hubs, economic corridors and locomotive urban areas with various services and industries using modern technology and adapting to climate change. It will grow maritime economy and strengthen inter-regional, national and global connectivity, improve the quality of the workforce, create a sustainable living environment alongside the restoration of important natural resources and ecological systems, and preserve the unique and special cultural identity of the ethnic groups.

Additional priority will be given to the development of key infrastructure of national, regional and inter-provincial importance in the fields of transport, energy, drinking water supply, agricultural centres, education and training. , healthcare, irrigation, disaster prevention and control and climate change. responnse.

Regarding loans for the region, the resolution details the criteria for the selection of loans and portfolios of investment projects, financial mechanisms and related contents in accordance with the law./.
