Bo Mon Preschool and Villa Tan Dinh were honored at the annual A + Awards organized by famous architecture site Architizer.
Bo Mon Preschool won the jury prize in the Kindergarten section. Designed by Kien Truc O, an architectural firm in Ho Chi Minh City, Bo Mon Preschool is located among the mountains and undefined hills of Tu Nang commune, Yen Chau district in the north. of the province of Son La. |
“The soft shape of the roof creates a shaded area that slowly passes from the wall to the ground as the sun changes its course, enlivening a present that connects architecture to its natural context, where it sits among mountains and undefined hills, and where it merges between the cloud and the smog of a mountain afternoon “, Architect wrote. |
The corrugated metal construction is basic, with a few seemingly sensitive devices to provide ventilation and holes for sunlight to enter the school. |
The yard is essentially a multifunctional open space under a shaded awning where the children play together. |
Tan Dinh Villa won the jury prize in the Private House category. The 300 square meter villa is owned by an owner looking for a comfortable and practical living space amidst the urban bustle. |
The idea was to create a living space above a garden, giving occupants the impression of walking along a bridge. The architects tried to create a large garden intertwined with the house instead of having a few small green spaces. To do this, they had to eliminate unnecessary space and furniture. |
“The house brings comfort to the owner where he can enjoy a ‘garden’ with all the flavors of Saigon in his own home,” the magazine notes. |
